Mrs. Maeva Anderson

kahuku HS & Int. Teacher

My name is Maeva C. Anderson, and I'm thrilled to introduce myself as your child's 7th grade Personal Development/Study Skills, 8th grade Information Technology, and 9-12th Poly Dance teacher.

Originally from Tahiti, French Polynesia, I moved to BYU-Hawaii, where I earned a Bachelor's in Accounting with a minor in Business Management. After welcoming our sixth child, I pursued my Teaching Certification in Business CTE. This marks my seventh year of teaching. Before joining Kahuku High School and Intermediate, I taught at King Intermediate.

I live in Kahuku and am delighted to be part of this vibrant community again. During my second year of teaching, I furthered my professional training by earning a Master of Education in Learning Design and Technology from the University of Hawaii Manoa.

Over the past six years, I have developed a teaching philosophy centered on student success, both in and out of the classroom. I believe success starts with creating a comfortable environment where students feel a sense of belonging.

Building strong relationships is key to guiding them through to graduation. At the beginning of the school year, I implement various activities to help everyone get to know one another. I will incorporate some AVID strategies and content to enhance our learning experience.

I aim to hold regular parent/teacher conferences to keep you informed about your child's progress and invite you to be an active participant in their education, as your involvement is crucial to their growth in knowledge.

Thank you for taking the time to read this introduction. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at manderson@kahukuhs.k12.hi.us or call (808) 305-7500 during school hours.
